Bringing Designs to Life
Costume Artist, Designer & Team Leader
With a lifetime of experience sewing intricate and imaginative costumes, I lead talented costume makers and fashion designers to create everything from Opera Costumes to Drag Looks. My expertise spans historical and fantasy designs, ensuring each piece tells a story and is custom fit for each performer.
I began my career at the San Francisco Opera and the Metropolitan Opera New York where I worked on many unforgettable productions. I moved to Vancouver Island to raise a family and began working at Pacific Opera Victoria. Between operas I’ve worked on theatre, tv, movies, dance and more. I created a fashion line for a yoga studio, make digital custom patterns and design custom fabric.
Teaching
I enjoy sharing my love of all things sewn by teaching at The Green Thimble in Victoria, on beautiful Vancouver Island.
Corset Making Classes
I teach from beginner to advanced sewists how to use boning, custom fit and grommet a corset. Once you learn the basics you can make your own design, and create the bone bodice of your dreams.
Consultation
Sew with Alice patterns included, to make learning to sew fun and inclusive. I work with each student to help them get the right fit with this easy to alter pattern.
